Privacy

The short version: the plugin collects nothing and sends nothing. This website keeps ordinary logs, stores an email only if you ask us to, and uses a payment processor for purchases. Nothing is sold or shared.

Who we are

Townsmith is run by Stephen Evans, a sole trader based in Sussex, England. For anything on this page, the data controller is Stephen Evans, contactable at hello@townsmithwp.com.

The plugin

Townsmith – Local Pages Engine runs entirely on your own WordPress install. It makes no external API calls, uses no AI services, and sends no telemetry. It collects nothing about you and transmits nothing to us. That is a design decision, verifiable in the source code, not just a promise.

This website

  • Server logs: like any website, ours records standard request logs (IP address, page, timestamp, user agent) for security and troubleshooting. These rotate and are not used to profile you.
  • Notify list: if you ask to be told when the free plugin ships, we store the email address you give us on this server and email it to ourselves. It is used for that one message and nothing else, is never sold or shared, and you can have it deleted any time by emailing hello@townsmithwp.com. Lawful basis: your consent.
  • No analytics or advertising trackers are loaded, and no cookies are set by this site for normal browsing.

Payments

Pro licences are sold through Lemon Squeezy, which acts as our merchant of record. When you buy, Lemon Squeezy collects and processes your payment and billing details to complete the sale, handle tax, and prevent fraud; we receive only what we need to issue and support your licence (such as your email and which plan you bought). Their handling of your data is governed by the Lemon Squeezy privacy policy, and the checkout may set cookies on their own domain. Lawful basis: performance of a contract.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to our use of it. Email hello@townsmithwp.com and we will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with our response you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
