Licence terms and refunds

Plain terms for buying and using the Pro add-on. The free plugin is GPL software you can use however the licence allows; this page covers the paid Pro licence and refunds.

The free plugin

Townsmith – Local Pages Engine is free software licensed under the GNU General Public License, version 2 or later. You may use, study, modify and redistribute it under those terms. It is provided as-is, without warranty, as the GPL sets out.

The Pro licence

  • A Pro licence is an annual subscription, priced per number of production sites (Single: 1, Studio: 5, Agency: 25). Local and staging environments do not count toward your seat total.
  • Activation is a single online request; after that the licence verifies offline on your site and never phones home. Updates and support are provided while your subscription is active.
  • You may move a seat between sites as projects end. The licence is for your own use and the use of clients whose sites you build and maintain; it may not be resold or redistributed as a standalone product.
  • Features never expire: if your subscription lapses, the plugin keeps working on the version you have; you simply stop receiving updates and support until you renew.

Refunds

If the Pro add-on is not right for you, email hello@townsmithwp.com within 14 days of purchase and we will refund you in full, no interrogation. Refunds are processed by Lemon Squeezy, our merchant of record, back to your original payment method. After 14 days, get in touch anyway – we would rather sort it out than leave you unhappy.

Acceptable use

The plugin is built to help you publish defensible local pages. It is your responsibility to use it that way: the quality score and publish gate are tools, not a guarantee of rankings, and we cannot be liable for how search engines treat pages you choose to publish.

Liability and law

To the extent permitted by law, Townsmith’s liability for the paid software is limited to the amount you paid for it. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
