What the bulk generators are good at
Credit where it is due. Tools like Page Generator Pro are fast, flexible and genuinely powerful at volume. You set up a template, point it at a spreadsheet of towns and keywords, and a few minutes later you have hundreds of pages. For some jobs that is exactly the right tool, and we will not pretend otherwise.
The trouble starts when volume becomes the only thing the tool measures. Where volume turns into a liability
Publish forty pages that are 90% identical and a search engine treats them as near-duplicates: it picks one survivor, folds the rest together and stops showing them. The estate is not penalised so much as collapsed. The free plugin does not write content for you, and it never calls out to anything. There is an optional AI assistant in the Pro version, off by default, and it assists rather than generates: it helps you draft and improve the local substance on a page, it never publishes on its own and it never invents facts about a business. The point of Townsmith is the opposite of a spinner. The thing that lifts a page out of the near-duplicate pile is real local substance, such as a job you actually did in that town and a note on where to park, and that is what the assistant is there to help you write, not replace.
Which one should you choose
If you want the largest possible number of pages and you are confident you can keep them distinct by hand, a bulk generator like Page Generator Pro will do that job.
